GRAYS EDEN
Overlooking the Thamalakane River in Maun, Botswana, Grays Eden introduces the first luxury boutique hotel experience to Maun. Guests can enjoy comfortable and luxurious accommodations in five distinctive villas and seven charming cottages. Our resident head chef crafts exquisite culinary delights, paired with superb wines, to enhance every visitor’s stay.
Grays Eden provides the perfect retreat to unwind and acclimate, whether you’re preparing for or returning from a safari adventure or a business trip in Maun.
Fusing architectural styles with a gracious nod to Botswana safari culture, the layout and interiors at Grays Eden have been designed to help restore a sense of equanimity as efficiently and effectively as possible, with soft, sumptuous spaces playing to organic, natural curves and all five of the elements in mind.
High-ceilinged, light-filled interiors with tall archways between bedroom and bathroom, are populated by an uncluttered, modern minimalist design, to give a true sense of space. Rooms are fronted by large verandas to bring in yet more space and the element of air.
Enormous light wood framed four-posters, woven lamps, wood and wicker furnishings and soft, matting underfoot, echoes the natural materials used throughout the property, and take us to the earth element. The five villas are spacious and serene, while the cottages are cosier and more colourful.

A spectacular pool built directly into the cliff face draws you into the element of water, expansive panoramas from the property’s high-level vantage point conveys the element of air, and sitting under the stars, by a warming, crackling riverside firepit, listening to the sounds of Africa, connects you to the fire element.
The Grays Eden design facilitates the gentlest introduction to a more remote safari experience in the wilds – like a luxurious taster with a delightfully free schedule and no early rises.
The first of its kind in Maun, this boutique-style lodge draws you into holiday mode from the moment you step foot into the peaceful gardens. Five luxurious thatch roof villas and seven fisherman’s cottages are well-positioned for privacy through the Grays Eden sanctuary, and from their elevated position, each are privileged with spectacular views of the Thamalakane River and the abundant wildlife including hippos, crocodiles and the occasional elephant stopping to drink.
Grays Eden has embraced soft fabrics and light shades of wood throughout, for delicate yet sumptuous interiors, while organic, elegant architectural curves complement the natural beauty of the surroundings. With calming pastel colours, clean lines and simplicity in design, this new genre of safari-holiday property offers a gentler and arguably more sense-soothing experience than the traditional dark wood and canvas style lodge, while still maintaining a strong sense of relaxed modern luxury.
